self-defense in Nairobi

Here is a funny picture from our trip to the game park last weekend:

Why is it funny? At first glance, it’s a picture of a sweet little boy walking with his mommy. But, upon closer examination you see that both mother and child are apparently prepared for some sort of danger (baboons in this case!) Notice each of their outside hands…nice!
