S.P. in 2008
Samaritan’s Purse is an organization that SIM and AIMAir work very closely with. In fact, I will be fixing and flying airplanes owned by SP. They do great work around the world all unabashedly in the name of Jesus Christ. They are doing a lot in Sudan. Here is their 2008 pictorial, which has some great Southern Sudan pics.

the Great Rift Valley
Last weekend, we went an hour outside of Nairobi to Kijabe, which overlooks the beautiful Rift Valley. It was nice to get out of town for a bit and enjoy some of the beautiful terrain that makes up this important geological seam. (Next time Starbucks offers Rift Valley blend, pick some up and think of us when you partake…remember to buy it at Hulen & Ledgestone if you are in Ft. Worth or at any Edmond Starbucks if you are in Oklahoma!)

‘As an atheist, I truly believe Africa needs God’
…Now a confirmed atheist, I’ve become convinced of the enormous contribution that Christian evangelism makes in Africa: sharply distinct from the work of secular NGOs, government projects and international aid efforts. These alone will not do. Education and training alone will not do. In Africa Christianity changes people’s hearts. It brings a spiritual transformation. The rebirth is real. The change is good…
But this doesn’t fit the facts. Faith does more than support the missionary; it is also transferred to his flock. This is the effect that matters so immensely, and which I cannot help observing…

You never let go
This song has been of particular encouragement to me. When we observe the pain, suffering and evil in the world, it is easy to lose hope. However, it is the “Light that is coming” that is the sole reason that we can do anything but mourn. As we celebrate the Incarnation this Christmas, we remember not only what Christ has done, but what He will do. He has made a way for us, but that is only the beginning. He will make all things new. He will make all things right. We will never be the same! Let us be motivated by this promise, by this HOPE!
I can see a Light that is coming for the heart that holds on.
There will be an end to these troubles, but until that Day comes…
Still I will praise You. Still I will praise you.
Oh no, You never let go through the calm or through the storm.
Oh no, You never let go in every high and every low.
Oh no, You never let go of me.
Matt Redman, ‘You Never Let Go’
