rss?
This is just a brief public service announcement as it relates to the new ngkilloren.com. For those of you who had an RSS feed from the old site, make sure you switch over to the feed from this site.
For those who have no idea what I am talking about: RSS stands for ‘Really Simple Syndication’. Basically it is an automatic feed of new entries on a website. I, for example, use iGoogle as my homepage and RSS reader. So when I click on the RSS icon on the sites I subscribe to, the recent entries on those sites show up when I look at iGoogle. It basically allows you to see whats new on all of your favorite websites at a glance so you don’t have to go to all of them to see if anything is new.

change something.
In the busyness of having a month-old and getting the new site up, I didn’t tell you how the david crowder concert went.
It was awesome!
It was at a great venue (House of Blues, Dallas), had a great opening band (the myriad) and then the dcb boys rocked. What I love about these guys is not just their musical innovation, but I love the way they (or at least david) think. Their new album is called ‘remedy’ and it has a dual meaning. In the song titled ‘remedy’ they refer to Christ as ‘the remedy’. However, at the end of the song, he trails off singing, “let us be the remedy”. Later in the album, david makes his point crystal clear in the song ‘Surely we can change’. As he described the song at his concert: ‘you’d think if a bunch of Christians live in a place it would make a difference.’ The final line of the song simply says, “surely we can change something.”
Exactly.

mr. mom | day 1
Well, today it began.
Ginna had to go back to work this week, since she had no maternity leave and her vacation days are running short. We decided a while back, for a variety of reasons, that I would stay home with the little guy. So, after Ginna worked a half day on Tuesday and Wednesday, today is my first full day (8a-6p) with the little squirt.
Yesterday, he initiated me by blowing out a diaper to the extent that his bouncy chair was put temporarily out of business and we had to have a mid-day bath. It was good times.
Today, we made our first venture out with just the two of us…to Costco of course. He did great, as he usually does when he travels (he did great last weekend on the flight to Miami).
I have to say: though I had no idea what I was getting into when I volunteered for this ‘mr. mom’ gig… I can’t think of anything I’d rather be doing right now.

breaking news: CPA in trouble!
The always tentative CPA (Comprehensive Peace Agreement) between north and south Sudan is now even more in question. Today, the SPLM (Sudan People’s Liberation Movement), the government of the south, withdrew from the unity government accusing the north of not holding up several key features of the Agreement. Full articles: NSV | BBC
Please keep this situation in prayer as the CPA has allowed the time of peace that was intended to stretch until 2011. SIM’s program in southern Sudan needs relative peace between the northern and southern governments in order to assure safe operation.
