life as ‘Mama Liam’
Several have asked what a typical day is like for me. You have seen what a typical flight day is like for Nate, so now I will tell you about me. This will be a two part (at least) series as I wear many hats and that makes for very different days.

me and Buzz
Well, I have my task cut out for me in maintaining my title as the coolest guy Liam knows. Its seems Buzz Lightyear may give me a run for my money. This new-found hero has Liam running around the house and neighborhood with his squirt gun yelling “Hold it right there!” and, of course “To infinity and beyond!” (Our Buzz prefers to say “to ‘finity and bedond”. I haven’t completely lost my spot because, like Buzz, I do fly. However, my method was questioned after my last overnight trip to Sudan.
When I got home, Liam asked, “Dad, did you fly like Buzz Lightyear?”
“Well, kinda… I flew up in the sky”, I replied, apparently unconvincingly.
Frustrated, he clarified, “Did you fly like this?”, extending both arms above his head with clenched fists.
“Well, no, not exactly like that.”
He’s a worthy foe that Buzz. Lucky for me, he can’t wrestle with Liam, kick the ball with him or do puzzles with him. I think it will be a wash for who is coolest when I take Liam to the movies for the first time to see Toy Story 3, which comes to our theater here in a few weeks.
